Water repellent model: As long as water resistance is due to the nature of the fabric itself, water repellency is soaked into the fabric with a coating or treatment so that the footwear cannot be expected to resist water for a longer period of time. There is basically no standardization or rating scale for water repellency.

Conceived to offer the right protection in the snow, but also during rainy days in the city, the Protecht range, inspired by the concept of protection meets technology, carries high and low rain boots crafted from rubberized nylon, showing a tone-on-tone sole.

Expressing Moon Boot®’s most creative face, the Lab69 range offers the brand’s distinctive take on seasonal trends with a diversified offering.

In the brand new men’s MTRACK offer, which is entirely made in Italy, the functional and cool boot is also presented in sporty Cordura for a hiking-meet-the-city inspiration, as well as in more sophisticated leather and shearling options.

Moon Boot is a snow boot brand first created as après-ski wear in the early 1970s by manufacturer Tecnica Group of Giavera del Montello in Italy. They became a popular fad in the years following the Apollo 11 moon landing, and resurfaced as a retrofuturistic fashion trend in the early 2000s. They received additional exposure through the nerdy protagonist of the 2004 film Napoleon Dynamite. Starting in 2011 they have been produced in Ukraine, at the rate of some 700,000 per year.

The boot is constructed with a thin rubber outsole and cellular rubber midsole covered by nylon fabrics and using polyurethane foams. Company founder Giancarlo Zanatta, after watching the lunar landing and being inspired by the shape and technology of the astronauts' boots, drew sketches and then began to design and develop the original Moon Boot. Tecnica registered worldwide the trademark Moon Boot name in 1978.
